Log Cabins

Log cabins are an ideal choice for those who want to get back to nature while still savouring the comforts of a home-from-home. Whether you are looking for a cosy log cabin in the heart of the countryside or a luxurious log cabin by a lake, there is something to suit every taste and budget.

Unlike the traditional brick or stone building style, a log cabin is made from timber. These can be of a variety of species, including oak, pine, and cypress.

Although logs are not always the most cost effective, they can make a very durable and sturdy structure. In addition, they have the added benefit of being able to be customized to the individual’s tastes and needs.

The history of the log cabin in America stretches back centuries and is not only an important symbol of American independence, but also of back-to-the-land and back-to-the-wilderness movements. By the nineteenth century, the simple, self-sufficient, and democratic log cabin became a symbolic image of a new way of life that was far removed from modern industrial society.

When the first settlers came to the American frontier, they were forced to create their own structures from the bare wood of the forests that were their home. They used their carpentry skills and knowledge of construction to stack hewn logs into recognizable patterns that were reminiscent of what they would have built in their homeland.

These log cabins were not easy to build, and they required a lot of hard work. If you are thinking of building one yourself, be prepared to invest in some basic hand tools and plenty of patience.

Many people who have built a log cabin from scratch find it to be a very rewarding and satisfying experience. They say they feel that the whole process has helped them to build their own sense of pride, as they have been able to save money while creating a unique and beautiful place to call home.

Log cabins are an excellent choice for a holiday lodge on the east coast and there are plenty of choices to choose from! There are cabins in the heart of the countryside, log cabins by a lake and even a luxury log cabin by the beach!
